Houston Homes' Foundation "More Than a Home" Awards over $100,000 to Local Charities in 2025
Houston Homes proudly announced that it has donated over $100,000 to charitable organizations through its charitable foundation, More Than a Home in 2025. The foundation, established by John Houston, Sr and John Houston, Jr, is dedicated to giving back to the communities where the company operates, focusing this year on two critical local causes: Bree’s Gift and Justin Delivers Hope.
More Than a Home generates funds through two main avenues: a direct contribution from every home sale and an annual charity golf tournament.
During the year, Houston Homes donated $500 to the foundation for each home sold. This core commitment resulted in a significant contribution raised directly home sale proceeds.
“Building a home is about more than just construction; it’s about establishing roots and supporting the community surrounding that home,” said John Houston, Founder of Houston Homes and More Than a Home. “We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with our homeowners and vendors to make a real difference locally through these two area organizations.”
The foundation’s second major fundraising initiative was its annual charity golf tournament, held in September at Bogey Hills Golf Club in St. Charles. The event saw tremendous support from partners, vendors, employees, and community members.
The two beneficiary organizations are:
- Bree’s Gift: A non-profit dedicated to assisting families with the often-prohibitive costs of adoption, helping more children find loving, permanent homes.
- Justin Delivers Hope: An organization focused on funding and outfitting K-9 officers in local police departments, ensuring these teams have the necessary resources to protect and serve.
In recognition of the year’s fundraising success, a check presentation ceremony was held at the Houston Homes Design Center Tuesday, December 16, 2025. Owners of both Bree’s Gift and Justin Delivers Hope were present to officially accept the funds.
The grand total contribution from the More Than a Home foundation to its two charity partners for 2025 is $101,620, with each organization receiving $50,810. Houston Homes has raised $317,162 for its foundation since 2022.
