Job Requirements
Houston Homes, LLC of Missouri seeks to fill an immediate opening for an experienced Residential Architectural Designer or Licensed Residential Architect with 3 years experience to join our team as we continue to grow.
The successful candidate will work within the Architecture Department and in conjunction with the Purchasing, Estimating, and Construction Operations teams. The winning candidate will possess analytical, communication, creative, organizational, technical and visualization skills.
This position requires the ability to meet with clients to discuss objectives, design requirements, and project budget. Predesign services such as an initial evaluation of site conditions, feasibility and environmental impact, site selection, cost analysis and design requirements will be required.
This position will be involved in the design process of new plans as well as providing support for the current portfolio of floor plans. Value engineering of new and existing plans along with custom revisions will also be a key part of this position. This team member shall work with all other departments within the company as it relates to the functions listed below.
Essential job functions:
● Knowledge of IRC Codes and the various adoptions and impact per municipality
● Give preliminary estimates on cost and construction time
● Development of conceptual designs through to accurate detailed blueprints
● Design to specified budget
● Prepare structural specifications
● Direct CAD designer who prepares drawings, renderings, maps and other documents
● Prepare scaled architectural plan drawings
● Prepare contract documents for contractor partners
● Manage multiple design projects simultaneously
● Visit worksites to ensure that construction adheres to architectural drawings
● Prepare and present custom plans and new or modified plans to buyer, sales team, management
● Develop final construction plans showing home exterior appearance and complete detail of the home’s construction including structural system, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, communication systems, plumbing, and landscaping in adherence with state and local building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations and other ordinances.
● Time management skills, decisiveness and flexibility to work well under pressure when faced with unexpected situations, or delays
● Software proficiency including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
● Ability to analyze & resolve problems in a timely manner

Houston Homes, LLC of Missouri is looking for an experienced new home construction superintendent to join our winning team as we continue to grow. Successful candidates will have exceptional communication skills with a commitment to delightful customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Managerial oversight of homes, planning, scheduling, implementation & coordination of quality-built homes from development through final construction on a timely & economical basis per Houston Homes, LLC standards, while maintaining a low cost variance
- Building rapport with customers and maintaining customer satisfaction throughout the building process
- Coordinating and completing homebuyer reviews, meetings and phone calls
- Motivating, managing and inspecting the quality of work that is performed by subcontractors and holding them accountable for quality work
- Working closely with the sales team, construction laborers, upper management, as well as all other Houston Homes, LLC team members
- Track & control construction costs against the budget in order to avoid cost overruns
- Maintain a professional, clean and organized job site
- Oversee worker productivity & compliance with building/safety codes
- Understand contracts, plans, construction methods & regulations
- Schedule and manage subcontractors and sub-contractor relationships in order to build homes on schedule and close on time.
- Prepare daily, monthly & quarterly reports
Job Requirements:
- Prior residential production building experience is required, 2+ years of field management preferred
- Experience scheduling and supervising subcontractors, strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience in effectively communicating with and interacting with customers, as well as a sales team
- Ability to manage, as well as inspect the quality of the jobs performed by subcontractors and hold them accountable to the Houston Homes, LLC quality standards
- Establish good working relationships with a variety of people, including upper management, designers, sales, trades, vendors & customers
- Time management skills, decisiveness and flexibility to work well under pressure when faced with unexpected situations, or delays
- Effective computer skills to handle job costing, payroll & communication with vendors & trades, as well as coworkers
- Ability to analyze & resolve problems in a timely manner; Persistent follow through
- College education preferred

Houston Homes LLC of Missouri is pleased to offer a unique opportunity at our New Home Design Center in O’Fallon, MO. We are currently hiring a Part-Time Design Intern to meet with customers at the Design Center inside Lakeside Shoppes Plaza in Winghaven, near the intersection of Hwy 40/61 and DD/Winghaven Blvd.
The Design Intern will be responsible for meeting with customers for selection preview appointments and is expected to display professionalism at all times.
Under the direction of our New Home Construction Designer, the Design Intern will guide customers through the showroom, introducing both exterior and interior options on display. The Intern will document preferred selections and inquiries made during the preview appointment.
This is a paid part-time position with some flexibility to determine your own schedule. Shifts will be scheduled Monday-Friday for 20-hours-a-week. Pay range: $13-$15 per hour.
Requirements:
Successful candidate will be enrolled in an Interior Design program or a recent graduate of an Interior Design program.
Additional requirements include:
Possess general knowledge of new home design, construction, and products (cabinets, lighting, tile, etc.)
Interact with a wide variety of personality types.
Separate your tastes, personal style, preferences from a client's and help them make product and color selections that suit their aesthetic.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We’re looking for someone special to join our team.
Construction laborers are needed to perform a wide variety of construction-related activities during all phases of construction in Houston Homes, LLC job sites. We work across new home communities, custom home building job sites, and in Houston Homes, LLC office locations in St. Charles, Lincoln and/or Warren Counties.
Our laborers spend a lot of their time preparing and cleaning up construction sites, using tools such as shovels and brooms. Sometimes, though, your day may include these and other activities:
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards
- Load or unload building materials to be used in construction
- Build or take apart bracing, scaffolding, and temporary structures
- Dig trenches, backfill holes, or compact earth to prepare for construction
- Operate or tend equipment and machines used in construction
- Follow construction plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
- Assist craftworkers with their duties
This job requires physical labor, both indoors and outdoors, all year round. As a Construction Laborer, you will work under the direct supervision of your Construction Superintendent, striving to keep our job sites in optimal condition at all times.
